We just need more time to continue to look the other way.

Sometimes the deck is stacked so heavily that legislation is required to stop the cheating. Who knows if this bill will pass, because it faces resistance from police chiefs, sheriffs, district attorneys and the Fraternal (hahaha) Order of Police–groups that usually get their way after some strong-arming. Kind of like the lobbyists and lawyers for the Catholic Church.

Such a bummer that your police work is “too complicated” when officers report misconduct. So hard. Legislation like this is proposed because these agencies complicate everything by playing dirty. They like to call it “looking the other way.” Sounds benign, but it is incredibly malignant.

This proposed legislation in Colorado is to address law enforcement practices that punish whistleblower cops who come forward. That the idea is so repellant to these groups (they won’t spend 10 minutes analyzing the bill) tells you everything you need to know about how much they hate whistleblowers and “complications.” Keep it simple–keep your head down. That’s their motto.
